Mieke provided a fabulous chocolate workshop for our group from the USA -- highly recommended! First we learned (and tasted) a bit about the practice of forming delicious chocolate "pralines" (shaped chocolates), and then we dove straight into a hands-on workshop. Mieke was happy to answer all of the questions that you can't ask when you walk into a pristine chocolate shop -- which was great for our group's endless curiosity. Mieke is multi-lingual (English, Dutch, French, Spanish), super-friendly, and overall an expert teacher. We left with a beautiful box of chocolates that we'd made ourselves, to enjoy long after the workshop ended. Everyone in our group agreed — this chocolate workshop with Mieke was absolutely a highlight of our time in Belgium!

I discovered Chocola-Tuti in 2016. I was an expat, living in Belgium, trying to learn as much about the culture of my “adopted” home. I heard about Mieke Cassiers and the chocolate making workshops she was offering. I reached out to Mieke, asking if she would be willing to do a workshop for a few English speaking students. She agreed, and our collaborations started with gusto. What I had assumed would be 1 spring-time workshop turned into several workshops over the course of a week. The English speaking community was craving this type of class. Since 2016, I have worked with Mieke several times, with group sizes ranging from 10 to 30+. Every single workshop has been wonderful. All the participants have enjoyed learning about how to make chocolates, and then taking those chocolates home to eat. I love the classes so much that when I had family come to visit, I would arrange smaller classes for them, as well. I departed Belgium in Nov 2021. One of the final “events” I hosted was a Chocola-Tuti workshop. I can’t think of a finer way to close out my life in Belgium than attending a chocolate making class. I will forever be grateful to Mieke for teaching me the fine art of chocolate making. When I return to Belgium, I can guarantee that Chocola-Tuti will be one of my first stops.
